Satyanarayan Puja is one of the best ways to seek blessing from Lord Vishnu, who is the God responsible
for maintenance of this universe. The Lord in this form is considered an embodiment of truth. Satyanarayan puja is conducted to ensure abundance
in one’s life. Performing puja in the evening is considered in more appropriate. However one can do it in the morning as well.
The puja starts with a prayer to Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles, followed by the puja for the 9 planets, the Navagrahas.
Then the rest of the puja consists of Satya Narayan, an extremely benevolent form of Vishnu. We placed him on the raised platform and clean platform on
red color cloth. After placing the deity in the correct position, Satya-Narayan is worshiped. Name of Satya Narayan are chanted along with offering of
variety of Prasad. Also during the puja, the story of the puja be heard among all those observing and partaking in the puja. The story involves the
origin of the puja, the benefits of it, and potential mishaps that may occur with the forgetting performance of the puja.
The prayer concludes with an arti, which consists of revolving a small fire-lit-lamp in the vicinity of an image of the Lord. After the puja is over ,
participants and observers of the puja are required to lingest in the prasada that offered and blessed by the lord.
